• Hélène at 9 Derwent

Helene sent me these photos of herself, knowing the blog was going to exist... But there are MANY pictures of her, especially when she was little! I'll just give a sample, and will keep the rest for later!

Certainly a striking likeness to a young Bob Dylan!

So, what is this mug ?

Has it got something to see with Georgette Heyer ? ... (sorry, I just read the answer)

Nooo. Just a present. Just happened to be on a shelf in front of a book by Georgette Heyer.

Yes, but probably it was used to drink stong old fashioned English tea while reading miss Heyer's novels!!!

Link the picture with me and my friend for a partial pic of the armchairs (now covered in yellow fabric by Auntie B)?

Comment ça, "the armchair at the back" ?

I really liked the other armchair which was of brown leather very much worn down and possibly falling to bits. It was very comfortable.

Very probably it still is, if your mum has kept it in her drawing room!

No the one "avec des clous" is the one sha has. The other was probably beyond saving. Do you remembe it? I think it had a brown velvety seat cushion.

Mark you have just reactivated my memory. I had forgotten about that one. Curiously, I found it rather uncomfortable and my favourite was the other one, the one with des clous.

just caught up with the mug!! strange to see the photo of you both with Simon in Palmers Green. The most striking thing in that photo is the width of jean leg material on Simon, and of course the fact that you all look soooooo much younger!! ! Is that Palmers Green station too?

I like the balletic pose Helene.  You wanted to be a ballet dancer I think

    Hi Jane,

Yes, and I have another photo where I thought that Hélène and I really look alike!! same nose, same grin, same chin!

(I tried to post it here, and it doesn't want to stick, so I'll put up along with the other ones)
