Charles at "Auntie's"
Charles at "Auntie's": this is how he would refer to 9 Derwent road later in life. But what I wonder is where would he have slept? In the room above the dining room? BTW, this makes me think: how were each of the rooms called? Front room and back room, OK, but next to the kitchen? I wonder if Grandma didn't call her kitchen the "scullery", and therefore the dining-room would have been the kitchen! Help! Oh, and upstairs? Top back room? I'll have to check, and write a post with the plan of the house!! Any precise information welcome! Anyway, here goes, Charles, our reigning figure of the day!
Doing the right thing for the press
Nearly finished, dearie.
Good-looking hair - but the trousers?? Cath looks worried the photographer went so low...
He looks cool enough here though.
Is he really convinced it's useful?
Ah, he's natural all right, here!
And here too!
First time I see him with a checkered cardigan... (thanks Mary for the picture!)
Funny how the mention of a jumper makes photos appear! Thanks Tini for this one (must be during one of Charles' stays at 9DR in 1959)!
The following day was haircut!
Give us somming to eat, Dad!
Who's this strange guy with his big black box looking at us? (the parents look great)
"I think I wanna go home now..."
Nice jacket - wonder why he didn't stick to that syle!
1980, twenty years have passed
(same day, with Carol - He was wearing a plastic nose & glasses! Hope he won't mind me posting this series)
Back to the roots!
1985 At our wedding.

It must have been during his very brief period of acceptance of British taste, upon arrival on this very different land. Ah, love, what would one not do for thee!
